Suzie Benson (aka Suzie Rose) began writing and singing songs at the age of 15. She played violin, clarinet and wrote songs by ear on the piano. Later in life she learned how to play the guitar and produced several CDs. She has either written alone or co-written all the songs on her music website, www.reverbnation.com/suzierose, and produced many of them herself. Suzie was signed with a record label in England at the age of 18. At the age of 20 she was signed to a single's deal with Atlantic Records under the band name "Fire on Blonde" (having 3 hit singles here on the west coast).
Suzie studied acting and musical theatre at Royal Holloway University in Surrey, England and also here in LA. She has worked with some of the finest artists, songwriters and producers over the years and has written and performed songs for movies and television . She has sung well over 100 commercial jingles for TV and Radio, which has been a mainstay throughout her career, and her voice has been featured in many feature films including "Consenting Adults", "Rich in Love" and "Dudley Dooright". She has been hired to sing the song demos for major recording artists including: Kelly Clarkson's "Miss Independent", Taylor Dane's "Love will Lead You Back", Faith Hill's "There You'll Be", Aerosmith's "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing", many Celine Dion song demos including Celine Dion and Tony Bennett's duet on the album "Duets". She sang the duet “From Now On” with Michael Bolton on his multi-platinum album "Soul Provider". She has appeared on many album tracks singing backup vocals for Kelly Clarkson, Faith Hill, Cher, Jackson Browne, Katherine McPhee and many others. As a writer, Suzie has co-written several songs with highly successful songwriters including Rhett Lawrence who produced Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson and others. One of Suzie and Rhett’s songs “Go” was co-written with Kelly Clarkson and featured by Kelly as the theme for a National Ford campaign. Another of their co-writes, “Make It Right” performed by Lisa Stansfield, was featured on Beverly Hills, 90210 soundtrack.
Aside from a thriving singing/writing career, Suzie has performed dozens of Voiceovers for TV/Radio and is signed with DPN Beverly Hills voice over agency. Suzie has had acting roles in several indie films including a role in Henry Phillips’ brilliant comedy film "Punching the Clown".
She continues to sing in the studio and on stage, writes songs for TV/movie placement, vocal produces in-studio for artists, does voiceovers for TV/Radio, teaches voice and acting and is a mom to a beautiful daughter.
